Pros: I learned a lot about the different countries and they were very helpful in walking us through the difference. With their advice, we were able to choose China as the best choice for us.
Their class on raising a foreigh-born child in the US was very good.
Cons: I will admit that many of our problems with AFTH stemmed from our specific social worker. There were numerous times where our social worker gave us misinformation and she wasn't new! During the completion of our dossier, both our social worker and the director gave us misinformation about the paperwork requirements. They really leave it up to the gentleman in Washington DC to help with the authentication process. Our social worker was out of the office many days which caused our process to be very long. She also was not good at follow up. She was the nicest woman but was not knowledgeable at all. The director also should have known more than she did, in my opinion. Their ability to explain complicated topics like the dossier process so it was understandable to the lay person, was limited.
Reviews: I believe my social worker has now left the company so it may get better. We met the other social worker in the office during the multicultural class. She seemed great. We asked if we could switch to her but the Director said no.
