havesomegrace's Ratings:
Pros: There were really none to speak of except for the pre adoption seminar. They are great Sales People.

Cons: We chose Christian World Adoptions because we thought that they were a Christian based organization. It just proves that just because the word “Christian” is in a business name does not deem them so. Unfortunately the negative experiences we encountered with CWA bordered on unethical. There staff on many occasions have been dishonest and misleading with information relating to the China Program. We have had multiple very disturbing encounters with the Agency that we should seek legal council for, and still may. There mission statement is not at all accurate. They are in it for monetary gains ONLY! They did not contact us for over two years while waiting, and then made the excuse that they received error messages with our email. We have had the same email since we started the process. We questioned why they never contacted us in over two years and within seconds I was hung up on. I have never been hung up on in my entire life, and found the experience unfortunate and disrespectful. Everyone within the Agency has refused to speak to us about our multiple complaints and never returned any phone calls or emails regarding our status. Instead we received a call and a visit from their attorney. We have been working with the Agency for over five years; enslaved by their unethical practices and held captive by the inability to afford to go with another agency waiting, a NSN child from China. We feel like our hands are tied and trapped. We want to give grace, but grace has not been deserved. DO NOT use this AGENCY, you will regret it for the rest of your life. Be smart and read these reviews!!! There are few that are positive, with wide span accusations and negative comments.

Adoption Details:

Child's Age: 4y 0m
Start Date: Feb 2007
Status: Finalized
Completion Date: Apr 2008
Time Until Placement: 14 months
Type: Closed, International
Special Needs: Yes
Child from Kembatta, Ethiopia

Tango8's Ratings:
Pros: None

Cons: This agency falsified documents on a very special needs child( Microcephaly, Cerebral Palsy, Left lobe brain Cyst, seizures, food aversion, blindness, crippled feet and legs, tremors, sleep disorder and memory loss) The documents that went through an Ethiopian court stated that this is a very healthy child. We never received medicals or a referral on this child, ever! When I returned home with this child the Agency refused to take any responsibility for their actions and inactions. They tried to ignore me, I'm assuming until statute of limitations ran out. They continue to underestimated the lengths to which we will go for justice.

Reviews: In my opinion they are very corrupt! I can not ever recommend this agency to anyone.

Adoption Details:

Child's Age: 1y 3m
Start Date: Oct 2007
Status: Finalized
Type: Closed, International
Special Needs: No
Child from Cedar Park, Texas, United States

hflip72's Ratings:
Pros: Our children came home exceptionally healthy. They were very much loved and adored while in the transition home, waiting for us to pick them up. The CWA staff were diligent to send us photos of the twins on a monthly basis and give us updated information as requested.

Cons: We would have liked to have had more frequent communication from our case manager. We know that this was simply an issue with our particular case manager and not an issue across the board. We wish that we'd been given an itinerary of things to do while in country. We would have liked for the process to move faster-we accepted our referral in late September and didn't pick them up for our Embassy appt. until July 1. Seemed to take much longer than it should have...

Reviews: Overall, we were pleased with CWA and are thankful for them.
