Cons: We had a horrible experience with them. I inquired about a situation that they posted to national boards. No response, but a week later the BM went into premature labor. They contacted me saying we need a family in the next day or two! We jumped on it and gave them all documents needed. They were concerned that we didn't have FBI fingerprints done yet, as they weren't required in our state. We suggested several possible ways around this, including being willing to move to Georgia and give up our jobs for 3 months while waiting for fingerprint results to get back! From Day One they were horrible about returning calls or emails, or even answering basic questions. They couldn't give us ANY information about the fingerprint process, even though it's required for all the homestudies they do!!
We kept thinking it had fallen through, then they'd finally call us and all would still be on. They refused to call it a "match" but acted like it was, and admitted they had no other families for the baby! They would not let me speak directly to the birthmother but told me to write her a letter, which I found very sketchy, as I found other reviews saying this agency sometimes coerces mothers into placing against their will! Once I found that there were ONLY negative reviews about this agency online, I had a bad feeling.
We left them several urgent msgs saying we REALLY NEED to speak with you ASAP and get some questions answered. Then they stopped returning our calls whatsoever. We found them to be extremely unprofessional. They would only answer when we called them from an unfamiliar number! They were obviously avoiding us, while expecting us to bend over backwards to match with them! All they ever had to do was answer the phone and politely say they found another family or that their policies prevented them from working with families who don't have fingerprints done at the time of the match. That would have been fine. The way they treated us was on a very middle school level! Our family was SHOCKED at our treatment by this agency, considering we were willing to immediately fork over tens of thousands of dollars for a hard to place child! Their lack of professionalism is disgusting. Please avoid them! Luckily the same day they dropped off the face of the earth, we found our match and it's much less sketchy!
Reviews: Read the reviews online about them. You'll learn a lot -- you'll find many complaining of how horrible they are with communication, coercing birthmothers, etc. I also found that they have had many complaints, have been investigated (easy to find the reports online), and have a D grade with the BBB!
